Sandra Mae Nell, passed away Monday the 12th at her home in Newton, Iowa. Her immediate family will be holding a private service at Highland/Oak Hill Cemetery in Colfax. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Colfax Historical Society on Friday June 16, 2017, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to attend and share their memories with each other.

The daughter of Paul and Verna Nell, Sandra was born on January 27th, 1962, in Newton. Sandra most recently enjoyed working for Manatt's Construction for over a decade. She also enjoyed writing poetry and spending time with her 13 grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her mother, Verna Mae Nell of Newton; Her siblings, Kenneth Nell of Newton, Janet Nell (Tracy Good) of Prairie City, Mary Millage (Rex) of Colfax, Rick Nell (Heather) of Urbandale, Karen Bennett of Vail; four children; Barbara Fagg (Chris) of Monroe, Eric Hume (Bailey) of Altoona, Erin Hume (Kelsey) of Newton, Amy Fagg (Jeff) of Monroe; 13 grandchildren Shoshanah, Nathaniel, Joshua, Trevor, Micha, Alexis, Katelynn, Emery, Joss, Harper, Hailey, Wyn, and Haidyn; Her aunt Irene Tuttle of Chariton, as well as her many nieces and nephews. Preceding Sandra in death was her father, Paul Kenneth Nell.
