Graveside services were conducted recently at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe for Clyde Eugene Koons, 78, of Ohio, Illinois, who died of injuries suffered in an automobile accident near there.
A 1937 graduate of Monroe High School, he had been a heavy equipment operator and supervisor which had taken him to other places, including Africa and South America.
The son of Orville and Ethel (Acklin) Koons, he was born September 16, 1916, in Monroe. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anna Slocum, of Otley.
A daughter survives.
