Larry Filson, 72, of Kenosha, passed away Friday May 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Jan. 5th, 1945, in Moody County, South Dakota. He was the son of Ralph and Ruth (Mettler) Filson. He was educated in the schools in Newton, Iowa. Larry married Rita Seymour on August 21, 1972 in Seattle, Washington. Larry, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1962 and retired after 23 years of service in 1985. He was employed as a manager at CSC/ Westco in Carol Stream, IL. Larry enjoyed fishing, working on cars, coin collecting, gambling and especially spending time with his children and his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his 4 children: Clinton (Sandra) Fox, Judy Fox, Larry Michael Filson and Barbara Filson. 12 grandchildren; Adrianna, James F., Jamey, Matthew, Ronald, James W., Katherine, Cody, Kenneth, Larry, Nathaniel and Lalita; 6 great grandchildren: Ilyanna, Ilias, Ilina, Izalia, Nadia and Meloniyan. He is further survived by 3 brothers; Robert (Pam) Filson, Roger (Betty) Filson, Jim (Tamie) Filson, 3 sisters; Darlene (Richard) Machin, Linda (Wayne) Christy, Carol (Terry) VeVerka. He also is survived by man’s best friend, Daisy.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Rita, and his parents.

A visitation will be held Monday May 15th, 2017 from 12 (noon) -2 p.m., with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Kenosha Funeral Services ~
