Services Held
Funeral services for Margaret J. Green, 69, of Prairie City were held Wednesday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.
The Rev. LaVerne Gonnerman conducted services. Burial was in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
She died Saturday, October 26, 1996 at her home.
Mrs. Green was born April 2, 1927, in Monroe, the daughter of Gerrit and Dena Rozenberg Gertsma. She graduated from Prairie City High School in 1946.
She married Melvin L. Green June 5, 1947, in Prairie City.
A lifelong resident of the Prairie City area, she was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Prairie City.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Larry and Joan of Ankeny, and Kevin of Prairie City; a daughter, Barbara Roberts of Truman, Minnesoata; her mother, of Newton; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a sister, Catherine Syfrit of Pueblo, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; a sister, Wilma; and a brother, Harold.
