Wintersteen, Maria E. – d. 1905

HOOGENAKKER, KEELER, KELLER, WINTERSTEEN

Mrs. Maria E. Wintersteen died at her home in Colfax, Iowa Nov. 21, 1905, at the age of 59 years, 3 months and 11 days. When a girl she came to Iowa with her parents, and in the fall of 1870 she was married to Minet J. Keller, who died in this city several years ago. In 1873 they came to Colfax, Iowa, and this has been their place of residence ever since. To Mr. and Mrs. Keeler were born three children, Angie, Hattie and Mary, all of whom are married.
In June 1881, Mrs. Keeler was married to P. K. Wintersteen who died the following year. During her long illness and close confinement, her daughter Mrs. Hoogenakker and her husband made their home with her, giving her every possible attention care and comfort.
Early in life she united with the Methodist church of which she has been a member ever since.
The funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Colfax Nov. 21, conducted by Rev. E. H. Fielsher. The body was taken to Howell, Michigan for interment. Mr. and Mrs. Hoogenakker accompanying it.
