1950 - 2017

Sandra Jean McCloney, the daughter of Robert Lee and Betty Jean (Lane) Beeman, was born March 24, 1950 in Osceola, Iowa. Robert died when Sandy was very young and was adopted by her mother’s new husband, Dan Henry Hochstein. Sandy grew up and graduated from High School in Osceola.

On January 24, 1969, Sandy was united in marriage with Robert Russell McCloney in Osceola. She had been a stay at home mom, raising her girls. She had worked as a realtor, as a bookkeeper at Clemon-Maki Insurance in Newton and as a loan closer at the United Land Title Company in Newton. Sandy was a member of the Lady Elks and the First United Methodist Church in Newton. Sandy loved her family and loved being a part of each of her grandkids lives.

Sandy died on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Taylor house in Des Moines, Iowa. She was 67 years old. Sandy was preceded in death by her father, her mother, her step father, a sister in infancy and a niece and nephew.

Those left to honor Sandy’s memory include her husband, Robert McCloney of Altoona, IA; her daughters, Jennifer (Cory) Beals of Melbourne, IA, Jodi (Craig) Aldrich of Pleasant Hill, IA and Jaime (Donald) Scarboro of Garner, N.C.; her grandchildren, Alex Auten, Tanner Beals, Abby Aldrich, Quinton Stevens, Josephine Aldrich, Tyler Aldrich, Emileigh Beals, Jackson Scarboro and Isabelle Beals; and her siblings, Rod Hochstein of Johnstown, PA, Kevin Hochstein of Mason City, IA, Dan Hochstein of Osceola, IA, Brenda Ellis of Weldon, IA and Brad Hochstein of Surry, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends following the service from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Taylor House in Des Moines, IA or the American Liver Foundation and may be left at the funeral home. ~ The Pence Reese Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 13 May 2017.
