Caroline Mae Dykstra Faidley, of Prairie City, Iowa, also known as Fuzzy and Auntie, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at Park Centre, Newton. Visitation will be Friday, March 31 from 2 -7 P.M., with family present from 5 - 7 PM at Coburn Funeral Home, 201 S. Marshall St., Prairie City. Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Saturday, April 1 at Prairie City Christian Church, 207 W. 5th St. with burial following at Waveland Cemetery.

Caroline was born July 14, 1924 to Gerrit and Margaret DeHaan Dykstra on their farm near Pella. She graduated from Prairie City High School in 1941 and married Wayne 'Wink' Faidley, September 12, 1946.
The couple was married fifty-three years and made their home on a farm outside of Prairie City. They enjoyed helping others, hosting friends, square dancing, listening to bluegrass music, and traveling.

In 1975, Caroline became Activity Coordinator of Clearview Manor. For over eleven years, families of residents appreciated her professionalism and the dignity she gave each resident.

For seventy years, Caroline was an active member of the Prairie City Christian Church. She also participated in Prairie City Historical Guild, Jasper County Historical Society, Golden Rule Club of Bear Grove, Clearview Manor Guild, and was a county election official.

Caroline's passions were flower gardening and expressing herself through poetry. One of her proudest moments came just last year, when her poem about her old red barn was published as a children's book, Hayropes and Hinges.

A tragic loss was the death of her daughter at birth; she overcame this by nurturing others.
Caroline is survived by nine Faidley nieces and nephews and their families, the Wagaman families including two goddaughters, Darci and Taylor, and first cousin, Lucille Groenendyk of Pella.

Caroline was preceded in death by her infant daughter, husband, nephews Robert and Derek Faidley, and dear friends Laurel Mae, Wayne, and Jim Wagaman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Prairie City Christian Church and Prairie City Rescue Assoc. Inc.
