Margaret McDonald Obituary
Colfax, Iowa Paper November 7, 1929Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Kane, a pioneer resident of Valaria, was found dead on a couch in her home about five o'clock Wednesday evening . A doctor and the county coroner were called, but upon investigation it was found that no inquest was necessary and that her death had been from natural causes. Mrs. Kane had been about in the morning the same as usual and had visited with some of her neighbors, but Wednesday evening when some of her friends went to call on her, they found her dead on the couch where she had apparently laid sown to rest.
Mrs. Kane is survived by a son, Walter Kane., and a daughter, Mrs. V. O. Edwards and one other son(Donald) and daughter(Lilly). She was the daughter of James and Jane McDonald and was born March 17th, 1865 at Patterson, New Jersey, and passed away October 30th, 1929 at Valaria, Iowa, at the age of 64 years, 7 months, and 13 days. Funeral services were held Friday morning at eight o'clock from the Catholic church in Valaria with Father Lawley of Colfax officiating. Burial was made at Holy Cross Cemetery.
