Iske, Minnie (Bodenhausen) 1838-1905

Last evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Miller in Sherman Township, occurred the death of Mrs. Minnie Iske. For a long time she had been afflicted with a malignant goiter and this, complicated with chronic endocarditic was the cause of her death.

Mrs. Iske was born in Germany, August 15, 1838, and at the time of her death was 67 years and 27 days. In 1864, with her family, she came to America. Their first home was in Scott County, Iowa. After residing there five years they removed to Missouri, but again about twenty years ago, returned to Iowa and have been residents of Sherman Township, Jasper County, until the present time. Seven years ago Mr. Iske died, and during the past year, Mrs. Iske has made her home with her daughter, at whose home she died. Besides this daughter, Mrs. Fred Miller, she is survived by two sons, August and Fred Iske, both residing in Sherman Township.

The funeral will be held from the Fred Miller home tomorrow at 1 o’clock and the interment will be in the Independence Cemetery. A brother of Mrs. Iske, Mr. August Bodenhausen, of St. Joe, Missouri, arrived today for the funeral. ~ The Newton Daily News, Tuesday, September 12, 1905, Page 1, Column 3
