October 30, 1937 - February 15, 2017

Harold Irvin Elam, age 79 of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at his home. Per his wishes, there will be no services. Burial will take place at Vandalia Cemetery at a later date. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Alvan and Leva Rose (Carnes) Elam, Harold was born on October 30, 1937, in Kirksville, Missouri. On October 9, 1957, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Ann Corethers in Green City, Missouri. Harold farmed until his retirement.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Carolyn Elam of Monroe, Norma Elam of Newton, Harold Elam of Newton, Mary Elam of Shelby, Iowa and Joanna Breckenridge of Newton; 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Preceding Harold in death were his parents; wife, Charlotte; three daughters, Debra, Cheryl, and Tonya; four brothers and four sisters. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Monroe, Iowa 15 Feb 2017.
