Darrell Lee Peery, age 57 of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at his home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, January 27, 2017, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Donald and Pearl (Stephens) Peery, Darrell was born on December 12, 1959, in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1978. On December 28, 1991, he was united in marriage to Patti Turner in Huxley. Darrell worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church. He also served as a Trustee for Fairview Township. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, bowling but most of all spending time with his family.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Patti; children, Kenny Thorson, Melissa (Jon) Morrill and Matthew Peery; his parents, Donald and Pearl; a grandchild due in May and several close cousins.
