JoAnn's Story

JoAnn Marie Marcus Selby, 62, of 521 S. Milner, formerly of Newton, died at 8:23 p.m. January 15, 2017 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born June 12, 1954 in Ft. Riley, KS to Dell and Laura Beeman Holler. She married Jerry Selby in Newton.

A 1972 graduate of Prairie City High School, Joann was a laborer for TPI, a cashier for Walgreens and had worked for the West Des Moines Post Office doing data entry.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband, Jerry; her children, Ben Fleming and Brandi (Justin) Swan both of Ottumwa, Melissa Bacon of Mitchellville; 9 grandchildren; her mother, Laura Holler; a brother, Dell Holler Jr. of Rio Rancho, NM and a sister, Jane Holler of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her father and a nephew, Casey Holler.

Her body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
