Helen Mae Cushatt-Faidley
January 8, 1924 - January 6, 2017

Helen Mae Cushatt Faidley, age 92 of Prairie City, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017, at her home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Burial will follow at Newton Union Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 9, 2017, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Suncrest Hospice and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The daughter of Charles A. and Agnes (Gibson) Smith, Helen was born on January 8, 1924 in Jasper County, Iowa. She graduated from Newton High School. On March 27, 1942, she was united in marriage to Lloyd A. Cushatt in Bethany, Missouri. Following his death she married Clarence W. Faidley, Jr in Nashua, Iowa. Helen worked at First State Bank in Colfax for 30 years. She was a member of the Howard Street Christian Church.

Those left to honor her memory are her sons, Larry E. (Patricia) Cushatt of Prairie City and Mark D. (DaNita) Cushatt of Colfax; step children, Margaret (Gene) Jennings of Granger, Frank (Meg) Faidley of Prairie City and Gaylene (Mark) Otto of Colfax; 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Judy (Dale) Berg of Colfax and a brother, Chris Smith of Newton.

Preceding her in death were her parents, both husbands, a son, David Ray Cushatt and siblings, Wayne Smith, Lawrence Smith, Ilis Hodgson, Dennis Smith, James Smith, William Smith, and Hugh "Frosty" Smith. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 6 Jan 2017.
