Anna Reese, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Reese, was born January 22, 1879, in Palo Alto Township, Jasper County, Iowa. Here she lived until October 1899, when she was married to Mr. David Conn, and they came to this city to make their home. This spring, some time in March, Mr. Conn and family removed to a farm near Colfax. Here at their home last Monday evening, Mrs. Conn was taken ill very suddenly, and after but an hour and a half of great suffering, passed away into the other life.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Harry Reese, a father, a stepmother and one brother. The funeral was held in Palo Alto Township at her old home and the interment was in the cemetery there, where her mother was laid to rest some years before.

After the death of his daughter, the father, Mr. Wm. Reese, sent a message to a sister of his, who resided at Ladd, Illinois, telling her of Anna’s death, and stating the time of the funeral would be held. In a few hours, a message in answer to his was received from this sister, bearing the sad tidings that a daughter of theirs had died at almost the same hour as Anna’s death had occurred, and that the funeral had been arranged for the same time that the message said Anna’s would he.
