Virginia’s funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, November 21st at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

The family will greet friends from 9:30-11 a.m., Monday, November 21st at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton.

Memorials to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League & Humane Society may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, please add, Attn: Lester Family on the envelope.

Virginia Lee Danner Lester, the daughter of Roy Charles and Eleanor (Rea) Danner, was born on December 30, 1948 in Davenport, Iowa.

She was blessed with four children, Debbie, Sherrie, Dwaine and Nikki. Virginia was a homemaker. She loved being with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her pets; camping, sewing, coloring and she especially loved the holidays. Virginia was a loving and devoted mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend.

Those left to cherish Virginia’s memory are her children, Debbie (Clark) Hassig of Newton, Sherrie (Brian) Davis of Clemons, Dwaine Lester (Cindy Franzen) of Newton and Nikki (Dennis) Cooper of Newton; eleven grandchildren, Dalton, Ashley (Jack), Kaci, Ryan, Taylor (Gabe), Riley, Alison, Makinnon, Mackenzie, Trevor and Kaiden; great-grandson, Brantley; her sisters and brothers, Joyce and Max Gragg, Donna and Mick Gragg, Mike Danner, Dwight and Carolyn Danner, Jim Danner and Brenda Vermillion, all of What Cheer, Bonnie Harland of Buffalo and Bill Bird of Moline, Illinois.

Virginia died on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at her home in Newton, she was 67. She was preceded in death by her parents, fiancé, Jimmy J. “Jim” Erickson in 2006; two brothers, Duke Danner and Don Bird; and sister, Connie Danner. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 16 Nov 2016.
