John Grimes
MELBOURNE - John Grimes, 89, of Melbourne died thursday, Dec. 11, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark.

Funeral services were held today at the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Zion, Ark., with Larry Strope officiating. Burial was at Roberts Cemetery near Franklin. Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City, Ark., handled arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Eathel Grimes of Sidney; a son, John Grimes of monroe; two daughters, Freda Smith of Hardy and Newton and Jane Wright of Evening Shade, Ark., nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Luther Grimes, Hayden Grimes, infant Harrison Grimes; and a great-grandson, Jeremy Smith. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 15 Dec 2003.
