PETER KUIPER

Peter Kuiper, foster son of Jacob and Cornelia Kuiper, was born December 9, 1884, in the Province of Groningen, the Netherlands. He came to the United States with his parents and has resided in and near Sully all his days. He departed this life on October 30, 1956, at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton, having reached the age of 71 years, 10 months, and 21 days.

He leaves to mourn his brother, John J. Kuiper of Pella, and three sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Swank of Newton, Mrs. Lizzie Kippe of Oskaloosa, and Mrs. Aberdena Hannan of Blairsburg, Iowa. His parents and an infant sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, November 2, 1956, at 1:30 p.m. from the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles A. Stoppels in charge. Mrs. Abe Vander Beek accompanied a quartet composed of Jacob Brand, Abe Vander Beek, Kenneth Ratcliff, and Warren Stanley as they sang "Face to Face' and "Have Thine Own Way, Lord." Burial was made in the Sully cemetery at Sully, Iowa. Casket bearers were Ralph Moes, Fred Baarda, Delmon Van Zante, Joe Baarda, Peter Pleima and Joe Nikkel.
