Oct. 18, 2016Lila A. Britson, 91, formerly of Newton, died in Des Moines on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016.
She was born in Fairfax, and attended Cornell College and Iowa State Teacher’s College, and received her B.A. degree from Drake University. She taught elementary school in the Newton school system for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; two daughters, Sherry Ann, and Cynthia Billingsley, of Newton.
She is survived by her son, Gary, of Des Moines.
No services are planned. There will be a cremation and interment at Roland Cemetery in Roland. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa 19 Oct 2016.
