Clarence James

Clarence James, 77, of Newton, died Wednesday, July 4, at Heritage Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 7.

The Rev. Al Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in Oakview Cemetery in Albia.

The family will meet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, July 6.

Memorials to Heritage Manor in Newton will be accepted.

Geyer Funeral Chapel in Albia is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are two sons, Edmund of Des Moines and Dean of Newton; and a daughter, Mrs. Robert C. (Patricia Ann) Ritchart of Egan, Minn., 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a great-granddaughter.

Mr. James, a coal worker for Sinclair Coal Co., retired in 1973 as a first class lineman from the REC.

The son of Clyde and Abigil Brioridy James, he was born Dec. 20, 1906 at Hiteman.

He was married Dec. 16, 1923 to Morfydd Gabies in Albia. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Fri 6 July 1984 Page 2.
