Mrs. Gustaf Adolf (Georgina Cecilia) Christenson, 95, of Newton died today, July 3, at the Jasper County Care facility, southeast of Newton.

Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at the First Baptist Church in Newton.

The Rev. Wesley P. Hustad, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Davenport, will conduct services.

Cremation was held. Burial will be in Manasota Memorial Park in Manatee County, Fl.

Wallace-Pence Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors are a son, the Rev. Carlton G. Christenson, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Newton; five grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband May 26, 1964 and eight brothers and sisters.

The daughter of August and Sofia Gustafson Berg, she was born March 30, 1889 in Bengtsbo, Haraker, Skultuna, Sweden.

She immigrated from Sweden , arriving in New York City June 8, 1908 and resided in Galesburg,Ill., and Jerseyville, Ill., prior to moving to Newton.
