DAVIS CITY - Graveside rites for Gayle Robert Geisler, 80, of Davis City, a former resident of Mingo, were held recently at the Davis City Cemetery.

Mr. Geisler died at the Leon Hospital after suffering a heart attack.

Slade-O'Donnall Funeral Home in Leon was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are his wife, Faye; three step-sons, Daryl Nernes and Dwight Nernes, both of Leon, and Larry Nernes of Texas; two sons, Dan Geisler and Kenneth Geisler, both of Des Moines; two brothers, Francis Geisler of Nevada and Bill Geisler of Salem, Ore.; two sisters, Zerelda (Mrs. Harvey) De Vault of Colo and June (Mrs. Bud) Wilson of Marshalltown; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clifford.

A minister, Mr. Geisler and his wife, Faye, presented a gospel music program on a Des Moines radio station for several years before retiring and moving to Davis City.

He was born March 7, 1911 in Mingo, the son of Walter and Hazel Shankland Geisler. ~ The Neton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Fri 4 Oct 1991
