Rick Wright, age 55 of Monroe, died Thursday, December 18, 2008, at the Iowa Veterans Home of Marshalltown. Funeral services for Rick were held on Monday, December 22, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Monroe with burial following at Silent City Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Rick Wright Memorial Fund and online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The son of Orval Andrew and Ethel Pauline (Noble) Wright, Rick was born on June 30, 1953, in Chariton. Rick proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. On June 26, 1971, Rick was united in marriage with Vickie Palmer at Princeton, Missouri. Rick had a real passion for fishing and hunting. He was also a fan of the Star Trek series. Rick was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe.
Survivors are his wife Vickie, children: Pamela (Corey) Lester, Brad (Marie) Wright, Angela (Robert) Stittsworth, Kenney (Shannon) Wright, and Jody (Erik) Van Der Kamp; grandchildren: Cass, Sierra, Autumn, Nickey, Tyler, Cael, Timothy, Haley, Kathryn, and Luke; and siblings: Marion (Bob) Goben, Mildred Sudbrock, Dorthea (Albert) Sudbrock, Minnie Music, Larry (Judy) Wright, Edwina Current, and Donna (Tom) Spidel.
Rich was preceded in death by his infant son, Rickey Jr., parents, Orval and Ethel Wright, brother, Bud Wright, and nephew, Jackie Sudbrock.
