Dwight Wright Died Thursday From Injuries
Funeral Services Were held From M. E. Church In Monroe Saturday
Funeral services for Dwight McDaniel Wright, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Wright, were conducted Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from the Methodist Episcopal church at Monroe, with Rev. O. S. Hesseltine officiating.
Rev. Hesseltine took his text from John, the fourteenth chapter the first verse: “Let not your hearts be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
Music for the services was furnished by Mrs. John Haase and Mrs. Cornie Huigen, assisted by Mrs. R. B. Gloyd. Selections used, favorites of the boy’s mother, were “No Night There” and “Sometime We’ll Understand.”
Pallbearers, all of whom are young men of the Wright neighborhood, were Laurel Van Baale, Martin Lewis, McClair Livingston, John Poortinga, Mark and Irvin Walker. Interment was in the Monroe Cemetery.
The youth, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Wright of near Monroe, suffered severe injuries Saturday, September 16, when his gun was accidentally discharged, the shot blowing off his thumb and tips of two fingers on the right hand, entering the face, and destroying the left eye.
