Knoxville Services For Cleo Wright
Knoxville, IA – Services for Cleo F. Wright, 72, who died Friday of a heart attack while driving on a Knoxville street, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Williams Funeral Home here. His wife, a daughter, and a granddaughter survive. Mrs. Wright suffered a broken leg when the car crashed into a parked semi-trailer truck.

Former Monroe Farmer died in Knoxville
Monroe – Funeral services for heart attack victim Cleo F. Wright, 78, formerly of the Monroe area, were April 7 in the William Funeral Home, Knoxville.
The Rev. James V. Poulsen, pastor of the Methodist church in Monroe, officiated. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery, Monroe.
Mr. Wright had a heart attack while driving a car in Knoxville, and lost control of the auto. His car crashed into a semi-trailer truck of the Della Vedova Construction Co. that was parked by the Hy-Vee Store.
Mrs. Wright, a passenger in the auto, suffered a broken leg in the crash.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, the former Macy McDaniel of Monroe, a daughter, Mrs. Delores Wells and a granddaughter of Knoxville. A son, Dwight, died in 1933 in a hunting accident.
Mr. Wright was a native of Marion County, and farmed in the Monroe area until five years ago.

Life Story of Cleo Fulton Wright
Cleo Fulton Wright was born July 29, 1896 in the Bellvue area of Jasper County, the only child of Arthur and Minnie Balmer Wright. A life-long farmer he attended the country school on Diamond Trail Road.
On July 23, 1917 he was married to Macy May McDaniel at Newton. Two children were born to this union. Dwight McDaniel Wright, who died in a 1933 hunting accident, and Mrs. Delores Wells, who lives at the parental home with her daughter, the only grandchild, Elizabeth Wells.
An enthusiast for old steam engines, he had attended the Mt. Pleasant Old Threshers Reunion 14 years straight.
Mr. Wright suffered a heart attack while parking his car in the Knoxville Hy-Vee parking lot on March 28. In the resulting accident Mrs. Wright suffered a broken leg.
He attained the age of 72 years, eight months, and eight days.
Services for the former Monroe resident were conducted by Rev. James V. Poulsen, pastor of the Monroe United Methodist Church at the Williams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wright attended the services on a stretcher.
Pallbearers were Milton Wright, Bruce Thomason, Dale McComas, Marion McDaniel, Carroll Balmer, and Ray McDaniel.
Mrs. Elizabeth Elliott was organist. Interment was in Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
