Services Held
Rex P. Woody, 77, a resident of Kellogg since 1965, died Thursday afternoon, October 10, 1991, at Skiff Medical Center of cancer.
Memorial services were held Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kellogg.
The Rev. Robert Walters, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial will be held at a later date.
Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County or the American Cancer Society will be accepted.

Survivors are his wife, Dora, two sons, Tim of Grinnell and Joel of Kellogg, five daughters, Marilyn (Mrs. Laird) Deppe, Jane (Mrs. Mike) Patterson and Sally Harding, all of Kellogg, Pat (Mrs. Dennis) Farland of Newton and Ruth (Mrs. Mike) Sullivan of Monroe; 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother Maurice of Newton, and a sister Ardelle Woody of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Tommy, and three brothers, Hershel, Oakley and Neil.

Mr. Woody, who had retired from Newton Foundry in 1976 after 21 years of service, had worked at the Automatic Washer Co. in Newton and had farmed near Sully.

He was a past member of the United Auto Workers, Local 997, and past shop chairman at the Newton Foundry.

The son of Harry and Maude Danks Woody, he was born December 11, 1913 in rural Monroe and attended Monroe schools.

He was married to Dora Mae Johnson February 11, 1940 in Newton.

He had resided in Monroe, Sully, and Newton before moving to Kellogg.
