Mrs. Julia Webster, 1854-1937
Mrs. Julia Webster, daughter of Joseph and Jane Acklin, was born in Highland County, Ohio, October 5, 1854. She came to Jasper County Iowa in 1865. She was united in marriage to Charles Webster in 1875. Three children were born to this union; namely, Mrs. Maude Clement and Mrs. C. W. Mason, both of Newton, Ia., and Floyd Webster of Mingo, Ia. She also leaves to mourn her departure 3 brothers; they are George and Sam Acklin of Newton, Ia. and Jess Acklin of Monroe. There are also 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mrs. Webster was a member of the Methodist Church. She served her age and generation as one who wished all men well. With her departure another pioneer who helped in the development of the greatness of Iowa has gone to her rest. Funeral services were held at the Monroe Methodist Church, Wednesday September 15th. The burial took place in the Monroe Cemetery. Rev. Raoul R. Moser pastor of the local Methodist church was in charge.
