Life Story of G. Waddington
Funeral services for George Waddington, 88, a resident of Monroe for 9 years, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Monroe.
The Rev. Jerry Wolcott will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Kirkville Cemetery in Kirkville.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Geraldine) Van De Pol of Monroe, and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Stevens of Oskaloosa.
Mr. Waddington was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Iowa.
Mr. Waddington had been employed as a farmer and carpenter and for several years at the Girls’ State Training School in Mitchellville.
The son of John and Elizabeth Jewett Waddington, he was born Sept. 28, 1886 at Chillicothe.
He was married to Mary Forsythe Dec. 3, 1908 at Kirkville.
Mr. Waddington also had resided at Mitchellville for 16 years.
He died Sunday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
