Services for Jessalyn Marie Ver Ploeg, 10, of Hartville, Missouri, were held Saturday at the First Reformed Church in Sully with Pastor Alan Kaiser officiating. Burial was in Sully Cemetery in Sully. Jessalyn was formerly of Sully, and died of injuries sustained during an automobile/pedestrian accident Monday, March 29, 1999, near Galesburg.
The daughter of Scott and Lisa Rankin Ver Ploeg, she was born March 6, 1989, in Des Moines. She was raised in the Covenant Family Church Granger where her parents lived and was home schooled by her mother. She moved to Missouri in 1998.
Survivors include her parents; three sisters, Briana Rose, Clarissa Raquel, and Alexa Grace; two brothers, Nathaniel Scott and Jamison Plake; maternal grandparents, Richard and Karen Hoagland Rankin of Reasnor; paternal grandparents, Dick and Joyce Van Genderen Ver Ploeg Jr. of Sully; a maternal great grandmother, Johanna Hoagland of Knoxville; several uncles and aunts; and several cousins.
