Services Held
Ruth Ver Heul, 74, of Monroe, a lifelong resident of the Monroe area, died Saturday, June 17, at the Pella Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Monroe United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Todd Schlitter, associate pastor of the Newton United Methodist Church conducted services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are her husband, Carl; two sons, Donald of Atlanta, Ga., and Darrell of Monroe; three daughters, Betty (Mrs. Paul) Tiffany of Columbus Junction, Jeanine (Mrs. Dick) Marsden of Red Oak and Patricia (Mrs. Richard) Eilander of Monroe; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Ver Heul was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Norman Dunaway.
The daughter of James C. and Jessie Clark Dunaway, she was born Feb. 21, 1915 in Jasper County.
She was married to Carl Ver Heul June 25, 1937.
