Life Story of Edward Scheffers
Funeral services for Edward Scheffers, 75, of Rt. 2, Monroe, a long time resident of Monroe, were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 13, at the Monroe Garden Chapel.
The Rev. John Porter, pastor of the Monroe United Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are his wife, Jeanette; a stepson, Duane Westbrook of Newton; and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Charlene) McGregor of Reasnor.
Mr. Scheffers was a 50-year member of the Monroe American Legion Post No. 363.
The son of John and Gertie Den Hoedt Scheffers, he was born October 18, 1896 in Marion County.
He was married to Jeanette Westbrook August 31, 1940.
