Services Held
A private family and relatives service will be held Thursday, April 26, 2007, at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Memorials may be left at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Kathryn’s name to Hospice of Jasper County or the Emergency Unit of Monroe, Iowa.
Kathryn Rozenberg passed away April 22, 2007, in the Monarch Wing of Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa.
Memorials can be directed to Hospice of Jasper County or to the Emergency Unit of Monroe, Iowa.
Kathryn Rozenberg, the daughter of John and Katie (Zylstra) Gezel, was born Oct. 22, 1916 in Otley, Iowa. A longtime resident of Monroe, Iowa and the Pella area, she attended rural schools.
Kathryn was united in marriage with Dick W. Rozenberg. She devoted her life to her husband, children and family, and was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church. She was employed and retired from Pella Corp. in Pella, never missing their annual retirement/holiday dinners, until her recent illness.
Survivors include her three daughters: Maxine “Micky” (Jerry) Ward of Cleveland, Tennessee; Norma (Dean) Honnold of Clive, Iowa, and Barbara Briggs of Monroe, Iowa; her seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy Mullins of Monroe; her brother, Gary Gezel of Pella; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick; a son in infancy, Wayne Jr.; a brother; and four sisters.
