Life Story of Elmer Roush
Elmer (Doc) Roush, 67, a resident of Newton since 1927, died Monday in Nelson Manor.
Funeral services were Wednesday in Johnson Chapel. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Grace; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ralph (Marilyn) Batten, of Des Moines; two step grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. James Ver Heul, Mrs. Oakley Hagen and Mrs. Russell Veon, all of Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers.
The son of Jasper and Catherine Thomason Roush, he was born March 7, 1901 in Monroe.
He was married to Grace Reynolds November 9, 1951 in Des Moines.
Mr. Roush retired April 30, 1965, from the Maytag Company where he had been employed for 39 years, mainly in the paint department.
