Services Held
Wilma Lawson Rood, 81, of Bolivar, Missouri, a resident of Newton from 1943-1990, died Wednesday, October 28, 1992, at the Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.
Funeral services were held Friday at the Butler Chapel in Bolivar.
Graveside rites were held Saturday at Newton Union Cemetery.
Survivors are her husband, Eddie; three step-daughters, two in Illinois and one in Wisconsin; a step-son in Illinois; a grandson, Danny Hunter of Kellogg, a granddaughter, Nancy Grimes of Monroe; three great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny Butler in 1972 and a daughter, Charlene Hunter in 1989.
Mrs. Rood, a member of the First Baptist Church, had been employed at Bang’s Dress Shop in Newton.
She was born July 27, 1911, in Bolivar, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lawson, and educated in Bolivar schools.
She was married to Eddie Rood in 1981 in Newton.
