Prairie City, IA – Services for Jarry A. Rons of rural Prairie City will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Runnells Christian Church, with burial in the Altoona Cemetery. Mr. Rons, 26, died of gunshot wounds to the chest in February. His body was found near Runnells Monday and the death is under investigation as a homicide.
Born in Knoxville, he lived in the Altoona area most of his life and had been a factory worker at American National Can Co.
Survivors include his wife, Deana, and a daughter, Rebecca Rons, both of Pleasant Hill; his parents, Loyd and Carole Rons of Altoona; two brothers, Jeffrey of West Des Moines and Tracy of Ames; and his grandmother, Luella Dobbs of Monroe.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Altoona Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Camp Township Fire Department.
