Services Held
Funeral services for Charles Arthur Romick, 82, of Monroe were held Friday, September 3, 1993, at the Monroe United Methodist church.
The Rev. Karen Merrill, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Memorials to the Monroe United Methodist Church will be accepted.
Mr. Romick died Tuesday at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Survivors are his wife, Marie; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Marcy of Monroe, Jim and Terri of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Rodney and Barbara of Storm Lake; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Paul Kane of Monroe and Barb and Russell Hagen of Waterville; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Raymond of Alleman and Tom of Webster City, and three sisters, Zola Cole of Portland, Oregon, Florence Elrod of Cherokee Valley, Arkansas, and Freda De Haai of Des Moines.
A trucker for more than 40 years, Mr. Romick was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church and the Teamsters Union.
The son of Charles and Verna Webb Romick, he was born March 24, 1911, near Colfax.
He was a 1927 graduate of Monroe Community High School.
He was married to Marie Fisher March 17, 1934 in Newton.
