Services Held
Albert R. Rietveld, 89, of Pella, a former resident of the Otley community died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 1989 at the Pella Community Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held last Friday at the Pella Second Reformed Church.
Survivors are a son, John A. of Otley; a daughter Patricia (Mrs. Elmer) Van Waardhuizen of Pella; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alma Ver Ploeg and Antoniette Vander Wall, both of Pella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Cora, Feb. 18, 1984, a brother, Dirk, and two sisters, Elizabeth and Anna.
The son of John A. and Maggie Van Houwelingen Rietveld, he was born Dec. 13, 1899 in Marion County and grew up and attended schools in the Otley community.
He was married to Cora Ver Ploeg March 20, 1924 and they farmed for many years in the Otley area.
