Services Held
Services for Phyllis Richardson, 56, of Newton, were held Saturday, October 23, 1999, at the Community Heights Alliance Church. Rev. Larry Spader, Senior Pastor officiated the services. The body was cremated. She passed away October 20, 1999, at her home of cancer.
Born October 21, 1942, Phyllis was the daughter of Clarence and Lola Fisher October 21, 1942 in Des Moines. She graduated from Monroe High School, attended one year at Southeast Missouri State, and graduated from the Mercy School of Nursing in Iowa City. She married Dr. Gary Richardson in Monroe on August 29, 1965.
Phyllis was a nurse at Dr. Gary Richardson’s office and belonged to the Community Heights Alliance Church and PEO of Newton.
Survivors are her husband, Dr. Gary Richardson of Newton; one son, Christopher Richardson of Newton; two daughters, Monica and Brett Bayne of Palos Verdes, California, and Victoria and Rob Versteegh of Kansas City, Missouri; and 1 grandson. She is also survived by a brother, Frank Fisher of Albia; three sisters, Shirley Northway of Marion, Iowa, Beverly Crawford of Pleasantville, Iowa, and Patsy Clement of Cresco, Iowa. Her mother-in-law, Joy Williams, of Monroe also survives her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
