Services Held
Services for Ione Postma, 102, were held Wednesday at Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Pastor Harold Koughn of the Monroe United Methodist Church officiated the services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. She passed away Sunday, February 10, 2002, at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.
Ione was born January 18, 1900 in Knoxville, the daughter of Herve and Alice (Fornerod) Risewick. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1920. Ione married Richard E. Postma December 30, 1920 in Knoxville. She lived in Newton, Knoxville, Otley, Pella, Monroe, and Arizona before moving to Clearview Manor in Prairie City in 1991.
Ione was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church and attended Tools Chapel on the Draper Road for a number of years. She enjoyed traveling.
Survivors are one son, Hubert H. Postma of Pella; two daughters, Alice Kaldenberg of Pella, and Darlene Stewart of Monroe; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1974, a son, Harold in 1948, and four siblings.
