Services Held
Services for Patrick G. McGriff, 66, of 1423 Thirty-third St., Des Moines, were held on Monday, August 20, 1984, at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery.
Son of Charles A. and Amy (Ferguson) Mc Griff, he was born in Monroe on May 6, 1918 and died of cancer at his home on Thursday, August 16th.
He had also lived in Newton before moving to Des Moines 30 years ago and at the time of his death was a retired employee for the city of Ankeny. He was a member of Gatchel United Methodist church, Acanthus Masonic Lodge 632, Des Moines Consistory and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters, Dorothy Patrick and Carmen Schrull.
Survivors include his wife, Glyndin; a son, Patrick Gary, of Ithaca, New York, two daughters, Mrs. Reinhold (Kathleen) Dembinski, also of Ithaca, and Karen McGriff of Syracuse, New York, three grandsons, and two sisters, Alice Hummel of Ankeny and Clarice Hoagland of Monroe.
He was married to Glyndin Layton of Newton in 1947.
