Life Story of Beatrice Marshall
Mrs. James F. (Beatrice) Marshall, 55, longtime resident of Jasper County, died Saturday at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Garden Chapel.
The Rev. Warren McFate minister of the United Methodist Church of Monroe officiated and burial was in the Monroe Cemetery.
Surviving are her widower; a daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Patricia) Boden of Newton; a son, James R. of Newton, and seven grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Charles E. Edgston of Mesa, Ariz.; James W. Edgston of Fairfield and Lavern R. Edgston of Grinnell; her mother, Mrs. Lily Edgston of Newton, and three step-children, Mrs. James (Mary) Henning, Robert Marshall and Mrs. William (Karen) Samuelson, all of Newton.
Mrs. Marshall was a member of the Tool’s Chapel Church northeast of Monroe, and Loyal Order of Moose Women’s Club No. 923, Newton.
The daughter of Charles and Lillie Bixby Edgston, she was born March 1, 1915, at Boone and was graduated from Newton high school.
She was married to Gilbert Stine who died in 1962. She married James F. Marshall July 11, 1966.
Mrs. Marshall had been employed for the past five years at the Nelson Manor Nursing Home as a nurses’ aide.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Marshall were Lloyd Nolin, Dale Mullins, Hubert Guthrie, Jacob Rozendaal, Carl Ver Huel and Gene Nolin. “Beyond the Sun Set” and “Lords Prayer” were sung by Mrs. J. M. Dockum who was accompanied by Mrs. Wayne Lubberden.
