Life Story of Lester Lust
Lester Lust, 61, of rural Reasnor, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Sunday morning at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Loehr Funeral Chapel in Newton.
The Rev. Donald Gatrelle, pastor of the Reasnor United Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. Ian Hoover, pastor of the Newton Community Heights Alliance Church, conducted the services. Burial was in Hewitt Cemetery near Reasnor.
Survivors are his wife, Kathryn; a daughter, Karen Lust of Newton; a nephew, Carl of Newton; and three sisters, Mrs. Ray (Edith) Munger and Norma Lust, both of Newton, and Mildred Lust of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Lust was a member of the Reasnor United Methodist Church and the National Farmers Organization.
The son of Alfred and Martha Earp Lust, he was born March 1, 1912, in Reasnor.
He was married to Kathryn Guthrie, August 29, 1936, in Newton.
