Life Story of H. H. Le Grand
Henry Harrison Le Grand, son of John W. and Martha Karr Le Grand, was born March 30, 1889 in Marion County and passed away at his home September 19.
He was educated in the Marion County Schools and attended Drake University. He was united in marriage to Nettie B. McCullough March 11, 1915, in Des Moines.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Lois) Jones of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Mrs. Henderson (Marzette) Reese of Otley; a half brother in California; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven sisters and four brothers as well as a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Sherwood, who passed away in June 1970.
Funeral services were conducted in the Monroe United Methodist Church Tuesday, Sept. 21. The Rev. Warren McFate, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in the Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Duane Van Haaften, Gunnar Hjortshoj, John Le Grand, Lloyd Clevenger, Doyle Kane, and Bill Kane.
Mrs. John Le Grand was organist
