Funeral services were held July 3, 1991 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Pella for Judith M. Lauber. She passed away June 29, 1991, after being killed in an auto/truck accident near Chariton at the age of 52.
Judith Margaret, daughter of Herbert N. Frieda Kubitz Anderson, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 11, 1938. She graduated from Wm. Horlick High School at Racine, Wisconsin in 1956 and from St. Olaf College at Northfield, Minnesota in 1960. Judy received her B.A. Degree in French, graduating with honors. After graduation, she taught French in Marshall, Minnesota, studied in France for several months, and then taught in Madison, Wisconsin. She then obtained her M.A. at the University of Wisconsin. On June 25, 1966, she was united in marriage with professor George Lauber, Jr. in Madison, Wisconsin and to this union one son was born, George Philippe. Following her marriage, Judy taught half-time at Monroe High School in Monroe and half-time at Central College from 1966-1968. In 1968 she began teaching full-time at Central College where at the time of her death she was assistant professor of French.
Surviving are her husband, George Lauber, Jr.; their son, George P. Lauber both of Pella; her parents Herbert and Frieda Anderson of Racine, Wisconsin; her younger sister, Janet and her husband, Steven Walker of Highland Park, New Jersey and one aunt, Mrs. Gerda (John) Nelson of Green Bay, Wisconsin and several cousins.
