Kerry Gene Godfrey, age 68 of Newton, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Private Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Kloster Funeral Home, in Marengo. Inurnment will be at a later date in Restland Cemetery, Baxter, Iowa.

Kerry Gene Godfrey was born October 27, 1947 in Baxter, Iowa, the son of Donald David Godfrey and Martha Matilda Brown Godfrey. He attended the Baxter schools and worked for many years with Progress Industries in Newton. He enjoyed watching movies, and playing cards and bingo.

Kerry is survived by his sisters, Sherry Hautekeete and husband Richard of Marengo and Charlotte Hall and husband Michael of Sioux Falls, SD, along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents, a sister Marilyn Brown, and a nephew Jack Gray. ~ Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn and Marengo, Iowa 21 Jul 2016.
