Funeral services for Donna Francis Cavitt Kirk, 56, of 717 E. 8th St. N., a longtime resident of Newton, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 21, at First United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Todd Schlitter, associate pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions to the church will be accepted.
She died of complications following surgery Tuesday evening at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Survivors are her husband, Kenneth Wayne; three sons, Keven Wayne of Marshalltown and Kenneth William and Kenton Willis, both of Newton; a daughter, Karla Kay (Mrs. Paul) Mc Ilrath of Des Moines; five grandchildren; a brother, Clyde C. Cavitt of Newton; and two sisters, Geri (Mrs. Bill) James of Monroe and Linda (Mrs. Jim) Koon of Newton.
She was preceded in death by per parents.
Mrs. Kirk, an employee of The Newton Daily News for eight and half years, was a member of First United Methodist Church and Ten Pin Bowling League.
The daughter of William R. and Susie Martz Cavitt. She was born Nov. 23, 1932 in Grinnell and was a 1952 graduate of Newton Community High School.
She was married to Kenneth W. Kirk Nov. 29, 1952 in Cedar Rapids.
