Jennett Kilgore, daughter of John L. and Elizabeth Kilgore, was born in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, April 5, 1859 and departed this life, July 25, 1939.
She came with her parents to Iowa County, Iowa. Later in 1876 they moved to Jasper County where they made their home in the Bellevue neighborhood.
She moved with her sisters Belle and Margaret to Newton, 1903. The winter 1919-1920 she spent with her sister Dorcas at Reasnor. Then in the spring of 1920 with her sisters Belle and Margaret she came to Monroe where she has since resided.

With her, membership in the church was more than merely a nominal affair. She was active in all its endeavors and faithful to all its calls.
At Bellevue she served almost constantly as Sunday School teacher. At Newton her duties were in the Home Department of the Sunday School and in the church and Sunday school of Monroe, she took an active and faithful part in all activities.
Miss Kilgore’s departure is mourned by her remaining sister Margaret, also by two nephews and eight nieces, whose children and grandchildren number sixty eight.
A wide circle of friends and acquaintances, mourn the passing of this good woman from their midst.
Funeral services were held from the home and the Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon conducted by the Rev. E. L. Patterson.
