Services Held
William “Bill” Kane, age 80 of Prairie City died Saturday, May 5, 2007, at Skiff Medical Center – Monarch Wing in Newton. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at the Prairie City Church of the Brethren with burial following at Waveland Cemetery.

The son of Fred & Maude (Cowman) Kane, Bill was born on May 23, 1926, in Monroe, Iowa. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1943. Bill served in the United States Navy during WWII. On June 24, 1948 he was united in marriage to Mary Lou McFadden. Bill farmed in the area his entire life. He was a member of the Mitchellville American Legion and the Prairie City Odd Fellows.
