Steinman Services Held Wednesday
Final rites for Amos Josiah Steinman, 32, who died March 6, at the Good Samaritan hospital in Phoenix, Ariz., were held Wednesday, Mar. 11, at 2:30 o'clock at the Mount Zion church.
Mrs. David Welle, accompanied by Mrs. Ray Livingston, sang "The Old Rugged Cross", and "God Will Take Care of You".
Those serving as pallbearers were: Hoyt Woody, Horace Woody, Glen Prindle, Paul Ingraham, Ernest Ingraham, and Harlan Romans. Burial was made in the Mount Zion cemetery.
Amos Josiah Steinman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Steinman, was born near La Cygne, Kans., Oct. 1, 1909, and died at the age of 32 years, 5 months and 5 days, following a prolonged illness.
He came to Jasper county, Ia., with his parents when a small boy, later the family moved to Gentry county, Mo., where they resided for thirteen years, when they returned to this county. Mr. Steinman made his home with his parents with the exception of the last four winters which he spent in Phoenix.
He is survived by his parents; four sisters: Mrs. Carl Romans, Mrs. George Barber, Mrs. Marvin Hagg, all of Newton, and Mrs. Ruth Huff of Stanberry, Mo.; two brothers, Elmer W. Steinman and Albert C. Steinman, of Colfax; an aged grandmother, Mrs. Julia Steinman of Denver, Mo.; one aunt, six uncles, and several nieces and nephews.
