Life Story of Berlin Ballard
Funeral services for Berlin Victor Ballard, 70, of Monroe, were held Monday at the Monroe Baptist Church.
The Rev. Wayne K. Anderson, former pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery west of Monroe.
Survivors are his wife, Ann; six daughters, Mrs. Loren (Gladyce) Bowans of Des Moines, Mrs. Leland (Irene) Clement of Newton, Mrs. Harold (Freda) Clark of Runnells, Mrs. Bill (Darlene) Karr of Monroe, Mrs. R. K. (Anne) Barron of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. James (Donna) Ballanger of Columbia, Mo.; 19 grandchildren; and 23 great–grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Mitch (Effie) Ketron of Vallejo, Calif., Mrs. Hobart (Beulah) Elliott of Fairfax, Okla., and Mrs. Floyd (Berda) Craft of Wichita, Kan.
He was preceded in death by a son, in infancy, a grandchild, a great–grandchild, four brothers and two sisters.
The son of Ira J. and Minnie Rae Havens Ballard, he was born July 27, 1903, in Rosehill, Kan.
He was married to Ann Elizabeth Smith February 18, 1922, in Wichita, Kan.
He died Friday on U.S. 6, west of Newton, following a heart attack.
