Died Monday
Clara Babcock, a 3 year resident of Monroe, died Monday morning at the Pella Nursing Home. She is the mother of Mrs. Vic Keller. The full obituary will be in next week’s paper.

Clara M. Babcock 83, of Monroe formally of York, Neb., died Monday, Oct. 15, 1984, at the Pella Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 7, 1901, on a farm near Fairmont, Neb., to Charles and Mary (Peters) Plock.
She was married to Dean Reed in 1918. He died in 1949. In 1952 she married Cliffton Babcock. He died in 1964.
Clara spent most of her life in York, Neb., where she worked for the Fairmont Creamery for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, 2 sons. Lester Lee and Bill Dean and both husbands.
Clara is survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. Victor (Estel) Keller of Monroe, 1 step–son, Russell Babcock of Winnebago, Minn., 4 grandchildren, 1 step–granddaughter and 11 great–grandchildren.
Services were held at Metz Mortuary in York, Neb. The Rev. Doug Jones officiated and burial was in the Blue Ridge Cemetery near Gresham, Neb.
